Frequently Asked Questions

I don't see ContactPics in the Share Sheet.
Scroll to the end of the Apps row and tap "More". Find ContactPics and make sure it is enabled. You can also look for "Save to Contact Pic" in the Actions list below the Apps row.

The app says contacts access is required.
Open Settings → ContactPics and enable Contacts access. The app needs this permission to assign photos to your contacts.

The saved photo looks wrong or cropped incorrectly.
Use pinch-to-zoom and drag to position the image within the circular preview before tapping Choose. The area inside the circle is what will be saved.

The contact still shows colored initials after setting a photo.
On iOS 17 and later, contacts display a "Contact Poster" (colored initials) that takes priority over the contact photo. To fix this, open the contact in the Contacts app, tap Edit, tap the initials circle, and choose any photo. After this one-time step, ContactPics will be able to update the photo freely going forward.
